We will have a subtraction fact test on the 3 facts this Friday. 10-3 will be the biggest problem on the test. Please encourage your child to study every night this week.
We make our flashcards on Monday of each week, and they participate in math fact races with their friends throughout the week. Below is an example of what their subtraction math fact bag looks like. You may want to make a similar one for them at home. I drew a number line at the top, and they use the red slider to count backwards.
Please make sure to turn in the permission slip and money for our Botanic Gardens trip by Wednesday. We only have one chaperone for that trip signed up so far, so please let me know if you can join us.
If you are chaperoning for any of our upcoming field trips, please make sure you have given me a copy of your license and updated auto insurance information. Many policies expired in January. Also, make sure you have completed the MCS screening process. If you did it earlier this year, it is still good. You do not have to do it again for the 2012/2013 school year.
Scholastic Book Orders are due by Wednesday of this week. Don't forget about our surprise for Mrs. Gooch.

Our Accelerated Reader incentive is still going strong! Please make sure your child is reading every night to help them reach their goal. For the rest of the school year, they can test on any day they bring in their folder.
Thanks so much for all you do! I know this time of year can be a bit overwhelming with all the activities and events. Here's to another wonderful week in 1st grade!
