61 books and Counting!

They have read 61 books so far! Here is what our wall looks like now. I am so proud of their hard work and the growth they have made in reading this school year. Here is a link to our class wiki for the things we will need for our 100 book celebration. A date has not been set yet. I will let you know as soon as they reach their goal.

Also, please send in $2 for our Valentine's Day Party by Friday. I will let them decorate a sack in class to collect their valentines.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is February 13-17. Our class will get to shop on our P.E days, Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday and/or Thursday, please send your child's shopping money in a Ziploc bag with their name on it. Also, you can come up and join your child on their shopping day to help them. Thursday night will be family night from 6-8. Please come out and support our school. All purchases benefit Campus School! Also, there will be a wish list for our class if you would like to help us build our class library.

They did an outstanding job!!!! I am so proud of them!

Our class began an 100 hundred book challenge last week. They are working as a team to read 100 chapter books. For the books to count, they must take an AR test on each book and score at least 80%. It does not matter how big or small the chapter books are. The class got to vote on their reward, and they want a pajama party with pizza, a movie, and ice cream. Looks like we will be partying soon because they read and tested on 28 chapter books last week! They are amazing! Please continue to encourage them to read every night at home. I will keep you posted on our goal! Also, I replaced the students' folders who said they lost theirs, so everyone should have a fresh start!

100th Day of School

I just want to remind everyone that the 100th day of school is Monday. A note went home about it last week in your child's communication folder. They can decorate a hat with a 100 things and wear it on Monday. They can also wear their 100th anniversary Campus School shirt.

Don't forget our family gathering is this coming Friday, January 27th. They should be practicing their part at home. The script came home last week.

Also, your child's red folder came home on Friday. I waited to send it on Friday, so I could send home their latest Aimsweb reading report. It is your copy to keep. Please send back their folders on Monday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Our Class Photo Site

Happy Fall Break!!! I hope you guys are enjoying your time together. I just wanted to let everyone know about our new class photo site. Mrs. Scott made it for us, and it is amazing. If you have not visited it, make sure you check it out. Here is the link http://mrsmillerswoodlandwonders.shutterfly.com/pictures. I am adding pictures to it as fast as I can. Please share your pics as well. This is going to be an amazing resource for our class!!

I also want to mention how much I enjoyed getting to meet with each of you during parent conference week. I am so lucky to have such a supportive group of parents.

The Miller Family will be heading out in about 15 minutes to take our sweet Emmitt to get tubes put in his ears. Hopefully, this will end the nonstop ear infections. See you in a little over a week:)
