Time Flies!

It is hard to believe the first 9 weeks of school is almost over. Fall break will be here before we know it. Please make sure you have signed up for your conference time next week. What's the news?

The news is our class won the Domino's Dough Night, so we will be having a pizza party soon!!!! I will let you know the date as soon as I have it. Thanks for all do to support our wonderful school! The August slide show is finally posted on the Say Cheese page. However, the quality needs improvement. It is still a work in progress, but please share it with your child. Also, I have posted the first golden ticket question on the HomeFun Hotline page. With your help, have your child email me the answer by 8 pm tonight, and they will get a ticket tomorrow. On Friday, I will draw two tickets for a free book pick!

Spelling Tips!

I hope everyone is enjoying their 3 day weekend! The Miller House has been under quarantine! Everyone is slowly recovering. During our recovery, I found a great list of spelling activities you can do at home. Go to this website http://busyteacherscafe.com/printables/languagearts.html. Then click on spelling ideas. This download contains 11 pages of different ways to practice spelling words. I hope you find this useful!

Homefun

The homefun section has been updated! I am still working on the Say Cheese page. I am currently experiencing technical difficulties, but I will let you know when it is up and running. Have a wonderful week!

How Sweet It Is.....

to have such a wonderful group of students who are really working hard!!!! I have already seen so much growth with their addition facts. Please encourage them to study every night and challenge them to a math fact race. We are going to start a math fact incentive next week. Look for information to come home soon.

We had a great week with our Amber Brown novel study. The students really enjoyed creating a portrait of Amber, writing a poem about her, and seguencing the events from the story. They also worked really hard in Unit Study learning about the different types of smarts. Be sure to ask them what smart they are!

Our CSPN Support Drive is off to a great start. We have already had 5 families send in their donation!!!

Just a few reminders: Make sure to initial your child's planner every night. Our Scholastic book order is due on Friday of next week. The entertainment book fundraiser ends next Friday as well. Make sure to return the book or send in $25 to purchase it.

Thanks for all you do! Enjoy your time with each other this weekend. My husband and I are going to attempt taking 2 toddlers to the drive-in! Wish us luck!!!
