Homefun
The homefun section has been updated! I am still working on the Say Cheese page. I am currently experiencing technical difficulties, but I will let you know when it is up and running. Have a wonderful week!

How Sweet It Is.....
to have such a wonderful group of students who are really working hard!!!! I have already seen so much growth with their addition facts. Please encourage them to study every night and challenge them to a math fact race. We are going to start a math fact incentive next week. Look for information to come home soon.
We had a great week with our Amber Brown novel study. The students really enjoyed creating a portrait of Amber, writing a poem about her, and seguencing the events from the story. They also worked really hard in Unit Study learning about the different types of smarts. Be sure to ask them what smart they are!
Our CSPN Support Drive is off to a great start. We have already had 5 families send in their donation!!!
Just a few reminders: Make sure to initial your child's planner every night. Our Scholastic book order is due on Friday of next week. The entertainment book fundraiser ends next Friday as well. Make sure to return the book or send in $25 to purchase it.
Thanks for all you do! Enjoy your time with each other this weekend. My husband and I are going to attempt taking 2 toddlers to the drive-in! Wish us luck!!!

WOW!!!
Wow!! What an amazing first week of school! We had a great time getting to know each other while learning about the routines and procedures of our classroom. We also had fun creating graphs and poems. This week we will begin our novel study on Amber Brown. We will also focus on addition and subtraction strategies and learn more about our brains.
*Please make sure to turn in your applications by Tuesday. I can't wait to see what jobs interest you. Also, registration packets are due this Tuesday and make sure to turn in your $25 supply fee as soon as possible. I am looking forward to seeing you all this Thursday for parent night. We will start at 6 and end by 6:45 for the CSPN meeting. Here's to another great week in second grade!!! Thanks for all you do!
