Thanksgiving

We have had a busy second 9 weeks of school, and there is still more fun to come! Please join us on November 26 for a Turkey Breakfast at 8:30 am. Here is a link to the wiki for more information: http://lpmiller0521.wikispaces.com/Turkey+Breakfast

A scholastic book order went home last week. The due date is November 26th. Please let me know if any of the books you order are for Christmas, and I will hold them for you. You can visit the Scholastic page on the blog for more information on how to order online.

After Thanksgiving, we will start our secret elf fun. Please have your child wrap a cereal box like a gift. The top flaps should be cut off, so the top is open. The bottom should remain closed. You can decorate it in any kind of wrapping paper. Make sure your child puts their name somewhere on the box. Please bring your decorated box to school by Monday, December 2nd. Picture Day and Much More

Dear Parents,

Picture Day is tomorrow. Students can dress out of uniform, but their clothes should be appropriate for school. Please make sure to return your picture information sheet by tomorrow morning. You will not get another opportunity to order pictures. You must pay in advance. If you are not happy with the pictures, your child can retake their picture on makeup day.

If you want your child to participate in the Walk and Bike to School Day, please return their permission slip as soon as possible.

Don't forget about Campus School movie night next week. You have until September 17th to purchase your tickets early.

Please make sure to signup up for a parent/teacher conference time. Here is a link to the wiki: http://lpmiller0521.wikispaces.com

Thank you so much for sending in the food items for geometry this week. They had a blast today! Make sure to ask them about vertices and faces:)

Grandparents' Day and More!

Happy 3 Day Weekend!

We have been so busy and next week gets even busier with Grandparents' Day. If you have not sent in a picture for our Grandparents' Day craft, please make sure your child has it on Tuesday. Everyone should send in at least 1 picture. Even if their grandparents are not coming, I would still like for them to make the craft.

Don't forget to RSVP for our special day. Here is a link to the wiki: http://lpmiller0521.wikispaces.com/Grandparents+Day

We will be going to the computer lab for the first time on Friday. Please make sure you have signed and returned the acceptable use policy that came home a couple of weeks ago. It is basically a permission slip for using the computer and internet at school. They cannot participate at the lab if this form is not complete. Just let me know if you need another one sent home.

Our first Scholastic Book order for the year came home on Thursday. Three orders have already been placed online! Thank you so much for your support! You can visit the Scholastic page on our blog to learn more about ordering online.

Thank you for all you do at home to support everything they are learning at school. Everyone has been doing a wonderful job with their HomeFun!

Remember, no school on Monday. Enjoy your time together and the beginning of football season!

Wonderful World of Second Grade!

Happy Wednesday!

Weekly work folders came home today. Please make sure to sign and return them by Friday. Also, take out all the keep at home papers.

The CSPN support drive started this week. If our class gets 100% participation, we will get a day to wear jeans to school! You can show your support by sending in as little as a $1. Please make sure to fill out the envelope and put your donation inside.

Our class is doing a wonderful job with the Homefun this week. They really appear to be taking ownership of their work. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about our new HomeFun routine.

Don't forget to initial their planner every night.

Thank you so much for sending in items from our class wish list. Your support means so much!J

Registration Packet and Parent Night

Dear Parents,

We had an AMAZING first week of school. They were so ready for 2nd grade. It was like we never left for the summer. I have some pics to post of their first day, but I have to wait until I get back all their media release forms from the registration packets.

Registration packets went home last Thursday. Please make sure to return your child's completed packet by Tuesday. All forms should be completed. However, you do not have to fill out the free and reduced lunch form unless you want to see if your child qualifies. Also, only fill out the after school forms for the activities you want your child to attend. Please fill out both student info cards.

HomeFun will be a little different this year, so I am waiting until the 3rd week of school to introduce it. I want to make sure I get to explain it to you first at the parent meeting this Thursday from 6:00-6:45pm. Please make every effort to attend. Childcare will be provided for Campus School children only.

Their OWL (organized while learning) Binders will not go home until after the meeting as well. We will continue using the blue folders again this week. Please make sure they bring them to school everyday.

Thanks so much for all you do! I am looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday.
